We believe in making the world a better place, which is why we have teamed up with Ecologi, the tree planting service. Every month, we pledge to plant a tree for every sale we make, offsetting the impact we have in the production and shipping of your purchase.
Naturally, the production and sale of products requires the consumption of energy and resources and results in the emission of pollution. While we look to reduce this pollution by taking measures in our production and shipping, investing in a solution like Ecologi makes sense in both the short and long term and gives us an additional way to help combat the problem of climate change.
Ecologi invests in a diverse array of projects in the UK and all over the world, therefore we can have a bigger effect by helping to fund tree-planting projects focusing on high-risk areas of the planet as well as projects closer to home.
An average tree is said to absorb between 10 and 40kg of CO2 per year when fully grown, which is not a vast amount but when working together with thousands of other trees makes a significant difference to help tackle carbon emissions.
In addition, the environmental impact of trees, woodlands and mangrove plantations go beyond simply removing carbon from the atmosphere, they also help to create habitats for wildlife as well as protect land and soil.
At Furniture Online we want to keep investing in projects like Ecologi so that you, our customers, can buy with confidence and peace of mind knowing you are buying from a responsible, environmentally conscious company.
Although we have only been doing this for a short while, by the end of 2021 we will have already planted 10,000 trees with more to come as we look to invest in other projects.
We only hope that other companies get on board so that projects like this become the norm and we can all work together to make the world a better place – for our children, your children, the sake of the plants and the animals.
